About the Project
MultiObs
MultiObs is a São Paulo Chair of Excellence (SPEC) project, led by principal investigator Rodrigo Costas, funded by FAPESP, and hosted at the Institute of Geosciences (IG) and the Department of Science and Technology Policy (DPCT) of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). We develop a broad research program for more reflexive and participatory monitoring of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), addressing critical issues in STI indicators, data infrastructures, funding dynamics, and societal and policy engagement.
More about MultiObs →Federated Big Data Infrastructure

Four Thematic Branches
Dedicated research areas addressing pressing contemporary challenges in STI: funding, public communication, technology, and science policy.
Living Lab
An innovative co-creation environment aimed at developing contextually relevant STI indicators with stakeholders and communities.

30th Annual International Conference on Science and Technology Indicators
Join us in Antwerp, Belgium, in September 2026 for the 30th Annual STI-ENID Conference, themed “Indicators for a Responsible Research Future”. This international conference brings together leading experts, researchers, and policymakers to explore how science, technology, and innovation (STI) indicators can advance responsible research and innovation (RRI). Key topics will include diversity, inclusivity, openness, and sustainability in research assessment and policy. Participants will discuss how STI indicators can align with societal values, long-term goals, and the challenges of an uncertain future. The event will also examine how indicators reflect changing patterns of collaboration, competition, and knowledge exchange, and how they can promote equitable global cooperation amid increasing geopolitical tensions. We are happy to welcome the STI-ENID community to Antwerp for this landmark edition of the conference. The STI-ENID 2026 Conference is hosted by ECOOM teams from KU Leuven, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and University of Antwerp.
